Cap City Fitness Center specializes in group fitness where you will increase muscle endurance, STRENGTH and energy to give you lasting results!  Our affordable 10-week program is uniquely designed and instructed by one of our 14 Certified Personal Trainers, giving you an endless variety of workouts.  Be faster, STRONGER and better than ever before!

Cap City Fitness is a community service of Capitol City Church. Classes are held in the church's fitness center and gym, located at 5990 NE 14th St, Des Moines, IA 50313.

Cap City Dance registration for the 2015 Fall Dance Session is OPEN. Click HERE to register.  The following classes are FULL:

  • Level 1 - K through 1st
  • Level 2 - 2nd through 3rd
  • Level 3 - 4th through 5th

Registration/Session Schedule: 

  • August 17, 2015 through October 24, 2015.  Regsitrationis open.
  • October 26, 2015 through January 2, 2016.  Registration opens October 4, 2015 at 2:00 PM online.
  • Fall Dance Session:  September 8, 2015 through December 3, 2015.  Spotlight Dance on December 6, 2015.

Cancellation: You may cancel your registration any time prior to the session’s start date at no charge, unless otherwise stated during the registration process. After the session begins, a $10 cancellation fee may be assessed. A pro-rated refund may be given during the first two (2) weeks of the session. No refunds will be given after week two (2).

“A little over a 18 months ago I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH DIABETES. I had been overweight the majority of my adult life. When my doctor spoke those words, I remember a great fear, helplessness and sadness overcome me. I WAS DEVASTATED.

My numbers were: glucose level 350+, A1C level 10.5, LDL was high and HDL low.
As the day wore on I hit bottom and felt the "victim"! Numbers were so out of whack I was sent to the Iowa heart center for immediate evaluation. If you're familiar with these numbers you know a heart attack/ stroke is close at hand!

As night turned to day I found this energy build within. We do lots of things in moments of trial and trouble. I remembered a quote from many years ago, "Dont give up, don't ever give up" - Coach Knute Rockne, Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. Drive itself is just a word, but when emotion is added to the mix, incredible things take place!

My family and the Trainers at CAP CITY FITNESS have ENCOURAGED and CHALLENGED me to do more. They provide an environment to SUCCEED, GROW and PUSH BEYOND YOUR GOALS! Thank you!

Today I share the joy that my physician has removed my medications. My numbers recently were, glucose level 95, bp 100/60 and A1C 5.3! I freely share this with others, knowing IF I CAN DO THIS ANYONE CAN DO IT!
